Speaking up about Depression
Do you know a new mother having a hard time because of postnatal depression?
Are you a new mother doing it tough in this way?
Postnatal Depression is much more than “baby blues”. It’s a serious condition that commands widespread attention from families and health professionals.
Plenty of help is available. The Just Speak Up campaign highlights not only postnatal, but also antenatal, concerns.
Postnatal Depression Awareness Week is a nationwide initiative that encourages
- mothers experiencing depression to speak up and seek help
- family and friends hold a picnic, brunch or other activity to give a focus and a lift
- the display of posters for the Just Speak Up campaign on community and work noticeboards.
